If William Gallas leaves as expected in January, Arsene Wenger is looking at quite a few players to replace him.
One of those possibilities is Philippe Mexes, the France international playing for AS Roma.
The 26-year-old has been a constant figure in the Italian capital since arriving in 2004 but we know how Wenger likes the Frenchmen.
Rumor rating
Mexes would be an interesting signing and bring some much-needed experience and quality to the Arsenal back four, but I haven’t seen a price yet and that is what really makes Wenger’s mind up on things.
